Life

A day late, but here I finally am with my Sunday Post. It has been a busy time but thankfully most of my family is in good health at the moment. How are you and your family doing?

I now have one more week of teaching from home, followed by two weeks of Easter break.

Blog and books

I finished House of Earth and Blood on Friday, I really enjoyed it! I'm currently reading Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray. Haven't made a lot of progress yet.

Movies and TV Shows

This week I finished watching the third season of The Crown and I started watching Extraordinary You. I recommend both shows. The concept of the latter is quite interesting, the main character finds out she's a character in a comic and tries to change her story.

What did you read or watch recently?

As always please leave some recommendations on what I should read or watch next!

Life

Working/teaching at home turns out to be more stressful to me than the other way around. I spend more time planning everything and I never seem to be completely done. In addition, you always need to be available and notice every new message. It's slowly driving me insane. Luckily, I took a break yesterday and read a bit. I am going to try to relax more this week. How are you doing?

Blog and books

I finished House of Salt and Sorrows this month and now I'm reading and loving House of Earth and Blood.

Movies and TV Shows

I watched The Dressmaker this week, and it was okay. It did turn out quite differently from what I was expecting. Have you seen it?

Life

Okay, crazy week. On Thursday evening the government announced schools, restaurants and bars would close, starting this weekend. I'm a teacher, so I will not be able to teach in the traditional way but I will have to provide material online. Not sure how or what yet though. I will also be asked to go to school because pupils who can't stay home are allowed to spend time at school. And future meetings should be placed in this "lockdown" period, never mind a group of teachers is still a group, and something we should avoid...

Blog and books

I didn't read much except for webtoons, I read Let's Play, SubZero, Midnight Poppy Land and Asura's Bride. Really enjoyed all of them.

Movies and TV Shows

This week I didn't watch much, except for a couple of episodes of The Crown's season 3.

Life

I had another busy week at work, although now my schedule is a little bit better and I should be able to get enough sleep most of the time now. I'm looking forward to my next break though.

Blog and books

I haven't read any books this week but I did start to read a couple of comics on Webtoon. I'm now a little bit obsessed with that site. I binged Lore Olympus in two days. Highly recommend this modern Hades and Persephone retelling. The art is stunning!

I'm currently reading True Beauty, which is fun as well.

This week I also posted my February wrap up!

Movies and TV Shows

This week I finished Lovesick, which was a fun show. I also started and finished I Am Not Okay With This, which I really enjoyed. Have you seen it? It definitely gave me some Stranger Things, Carrie and The Breakfast Club vibes. My favourite character was Stan.

I also watched The Endless Trench on Netflix, which is about the Spanish Civil War. I highly recommend this film, even though it was a bit too long.

February 2020 Wrap Up

Here is my February wrap up. I'm happy I was able to read more this month than in January!

1. Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

This was a fun book. I enjoyed it but I like adult romances more. 3 stars.

2. If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane

Really enjoyed this book, a bit slow in the beginning but I was hooked when the action between the two main characters picked up. 4 stars! I recommend this one and I'm looking forward to read more books by this author. Do you have any recommendations?

3. Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters, #1) by Talia Hibbert

I didn't like this one as much as I hoped I would, but it was still a fun read. 4 stars.

4. Born, Darkly (Darkly, Madly Duet, #1) by Trisha Wolfe

This was very, very dark. I liked it but the ending creeped me out. Not sure I will read the sequel, I'm doubtful it will have a lot more to add to the story. 3 stars.

5. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Loved this one! It was quite slow paced, though, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

6. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Mackenzies & McBrides, #1) by Jennifer Ashley

It took some time to get used to the writing style. 3 stars. Might read more by this author.

7. A Nordic King (Nordic Royals, #3) by Karina Halle

Liked it but thought it was a bit too long. 3 stars.

8. The Driver's Seat by Muriel Spark

Quite enjoyed this one. It certainly shows how self-destructive people can be. 4 stars. I'm now very intrigued to read more Muriel Spark books.  Do you have any recommendations?

Life

I had a week off but unfortunately I got a bad cold as well. I'm still feeling rather under the weather at the moment. Hopefully it's completely over on Monday. I did manage to read a bit this week and watch a couple of films.

Blog and books

I read The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie which was okay, as well as A Nordic King which was rather good and The Driver's Seat by Muriel Spark which was my favourite book this week.

I will post my February wrap up next week!

Movies and TV Shows

This week I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which was rather underwhelming, The Favourite which was great and Breathe which I also enjoyed. I also started watching Lovesick on Netflix, mainly because it's quite short. I'm enjoying it though. Do you have recommendations for short TV shows?
