Sunday Post #138

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer (image above belongs to @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer). It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I am also linking The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance of Readerbuzz where bloggers discuss what they are reading and other bookish topics.

Life

Phew, I'm glad last week is officially over! Two more weeks and I'll have some time off, definitely looking forward to it! So this Saturday, I decided to take a day for myself, with lovely sushi, some wine, fun music and a warm, cosy bath. It was a great day!

Blog and books

Yesterday I read Peter Pan for the first time and it was such a nostalgic experience. I went to a Flemish Peter Pan musical as a child and still know the songs by heart. I couldn't resist listening to them again and loved all the literary references in the lyrics to the actual source material.

Do you have other children's classic recommendations?
I've also read Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Heidi, The Secret Garden and A Little Princess.

Movies and TV Shows

After reading Peter Pan, I also watched the film Peter Pan and Hook. I quite like both but it had been some time since I last saw them. Also adore those soundtracks!

What did you watch or read recently?

As always please leave some recommendations on what I should read or watch next!

If you enjoyed this review, please follow me on Bloglovin'TwitterInstagram, TVShowTime and Goodreads! I would really appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

  3. What a lovely day you made for yourself. Wine, music, warm bath? Ideal.

I enjoy reading the book and watching the movie. I did that with Moby Dick and War and Peace and all the Jane Austen books.

What children's classics do I recommend? The 1001 Children's Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up is a wonderful list of great children's books from around the world. Two older books that I loved that you did not have on your list are Wind in the Willows and Winnie-the-Pooh.
