December 2020 TBR

I haven't been feeling the best lately, which is why it's been so quiet on here. Covid-19 blues, I guess. But I'm getting my reading mood back and I wanted to talk about some books I'm hoping to read in December.

I'm never great at sticking to TBR's (because I'm very much a mood reader) but I hope to get to some of these at least!

1. Educated by Tara Westover

I started listening to the audiobook in October but I switched schools and now teach a lot closer to my home and I don't take the train anymore, which is why I haven't finished this one yet. I can't decide to simply read it or continue to listen to the audiobook.

2. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

I'm almost finished with this one, but at one point got too sad to continue. Just the thought of invisibility hurt at that moment. During these lockdowns it's sometimes not too difficult to feel invisible as well. 

3. The King of Crows (The Diviners #4) by Libba Bray

I started The King of Crows quite some time ago and have yet to continue. I really want to finish this series this year. It was quite an original young adult series to read, especially since my reading tastes are changing into adult books.

4. Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

I discovered I love Japanese fiction this year. I got this one during my summer break and it feels fitting to read a new favourite genre at the end of the year as well. Also watching Basically Britt's reading vlog about this book really got me into the mood to pick this one up right away.

5. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brönte

I believe December is the perfect time of the year to read this classic. I have seen and loved several adaptations of this book and once read half the story but didn't continue even though I loved it. Now, I hope to start and finish it this year.

6. Ship of Destiny by Robin Hobb

I will have to read a good summary or parts of the previous two books before I get started on this one, but I love reading Robin Hobb during Christmas break. We'll see if I actually get to this huge book, though.

I really enjoyed Helen Hoang's other novels, The Kiss Quotient and The Bride Test. Quan has always been an interesting character and I'm excited to read his story. Have you read any books by Helen Hoang?

This sounds like a fun read. I love enemies to lovers, this starts out differently but I would like to see how things go.

Since I read Fix Her Up in 2019, I have been curious to read more about these two characters. I hope I will enjoy this more than Fix Her Up. Love Her or  Lose Her will be published this month.

It has been way to long since my last Stacking the Shelves, so this was overdue!

Let's start with the manga I got:

1. Waiting for Spring vol. 11 by Anashin

This series is the one that got me into more manga this year. I devoured the first volumes! I read these on my e-reader.

2. Tokyo Ghoul boxset by Sui Ishida

Read the first one and really enjoyed it!

I'm slowing making my way through Robin Hobb's books, I'm planning on reading Ship of Destiny at the end of this year! It's kind of has become a tradition to read a Hobb book around the Christmas holidays.

Got the arc of this at a small second hand bookfair supporting a good cause.

This is my most anticipated book this year! I'm a little sad this wasn't released in August, when I still had a lot of spare time to read, so I don't know when I will have to actual time to read this conclusion to a fantastic series! I want to be able to savour everything!

Can't Wait Wednesday: Well Met by Jen DeLuca

All's faire in love and war for two sworn enemies who indulge in a harmless flirtation in a laugh-out-loud rom-com from debut author, Jen DeLuca.

Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him?
