Top Ten Tuesday: Summer Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week bloggers post their top ten on a previously suggested topic. This week's topic is top ten summer reads freebie, so I chose to make my top ten books I want to read this summer. Most of these books I also still need to purchase.

1. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

This one sounds like a very cute summer read, I'm in!

2. Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed

I've been wanting to read this book for years, so hopefully this will be the year I read Wild!

3. Blackmoore by Julianne Donaldson

I've had this book on my radar ever since PeruseProject read it and enjoyed it. It sounds like the perfect summer historical romance book!

4. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I really want to read this story because this is probably the most important young adult novel to be released this year. Since I'm currently working on my masters to become a secondary school English teacher, I thought it would be useful to read this book and see whether I could possibly use this in my lessons.

5. Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I got this book two years ago and I still haven't read it, hopefully I will get to it this summer, because I know I will enjoy this book immensely.

6. Hidden Huntress (The Malediction Trilogy, #2) by Danielle L. Jensen

I want to finish this series as soon as possible because I got an arc of The Broken Ones, which is a prequel of this trilogy through Netgalley and I believe I need to finish this series first.

7. Warrior Witch (The Malediction Trilogy, #3) by Danielle L. Jensen

8. And I Darken (The Conqueror's Saga #1) by Kiersten White

I got the sequel from Netgalley as well, so I need to hurry up and read the first book in the series so I can write a review on time.

9. Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo

I got book more than a year ago, and I still need to read it! I'm planning to pick this up when I'm in Spain, so it will definitely get read this year!

10. The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass 0.1 - 0.5) by Sarah J. Maas

After finishing A Court of Wings and Ruin this month, I started reading the Throne of Glass series and I believe I need to read this collection of novella's before I read Queen of Shadows, so that's exactly what I'm going to do!

Which books are you planning to read this summer? Have you read any of the books mentioned above? Leave your thoughts down below!

  4. Great list! Six of Crows is on my TBR too, and I've owned Americanah and not read it for far too long! I read Adichie's short story collection, The Thing Around Your Neck, earlier this year and loved it, so I need to read her novels. I'm planning to read The Hate U Give this year, too; I haven't heard a bad thing about it yet and it sounds like such an important book given the current political climate. Wild is another book I'm considering picking up at some point as I've slowly been getting more and more into travel memoirs. =) Best of luck with your masters, I hope you manage to get to all of these over the summer!

  9. I agree that you should read the Assassin's Blade before continuing to QOS. And even though if you've read Throne of Glass you know what happens, then ending to The Assassin's Blade broke me

  13. I really want to read Americanah this summer. I tried Wild two or three summers ago but it just wasn't for me, which was surprising since I usually love wilderness adventure/discover yourself in the woods narratives.

  14. Glad to see 'Dimple' on your list. It sounds like such fun, and it seems to be getting all the positive buzz in the blogger world. Also, I cannot wait to read Six of Crows; never read anything by Leigh, but the story sounds fabulous! :)

Thanks so much for the Finding Wonderland visit, Lynn.
