Sunday Post #2

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Last month I (hopefully) had my final academic exams ever! I will know my results on Friday and I'm currently starting to apply for teaching jobs. To say I'm nervous about this is an understatement.

Today I want to share what happened on my blog so far this year and which movies and TV shows I watched in January.

On my blog

Best book I read so far: Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

Movies

Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi
Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I watched the original movies with my parents in order to go see the newest in theatres. Really enjoyed it!

Before I go to sleep

Most disappointing movie of the month. Liked the book but should have avoided the movie.

Arrival

Really surprised by this one! I liked that this was about language!

Dunkirk

Great movie but a little confusing at first, we didn't realize it wasn't chronological until the second part of the film.

Blade Runner

Finally got a chance to watch this, can't wait to watch the sequel!

Land of Mine

Probably my favourite movie of the month! It was very gripping! Review to come!

TV shows

Lucifer

Love this show! It's only getting better in my opinion!

The Crown

This was fantastic! A bit slow at first but so addicting! Review to come!

The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel

I enjoyed this but I thought I would love it more.

Brooklyn nine-nine

Fun show, as always!

The Good Place

Love this one! Still have to watch the last episode of the season, though! I want to savour it!

The End of the F***ing World

This show was nuts but perfect to binge watch!

The Punisher

I started watching this when it came it but wasn't in the mood for it at the time. The first episodes are a bit slow, but man, does it get better soon! Highly recommend this one! My favourite Netflix superhero show!

Grace and Frankie

I was looking for another show with short episodes and found this one! Really enjoying it!

The Night Manager

I've had heard such amazing things about this show but it started quite slow, the end was better but this definitely wasn't one of the better show I've seen this month.

What did you recently watch? Have you seen any of the movies or TV shows above or are you planning to? Leave your thoughts down below!

Also, I could use some recommendations on shows that are about 20-30 minutes long!

  3. I love Lucifer, The Crown too of course. I actually thought it was slow at first too and before I knew it I was hooked. Brooklyn nine-nine is definitely one of my favorite shows EVER! I still need to watch The Punished but I haven't been in the mood for it yet. Maybe soon. Haven't actually been watching much lately. Mostly stuff on YouTube and Friends on Netflix. lol

    1. Glad you enjoy those too! I needed to be in the right mood too to truly appreciate The Punisher. I watched Youtube a lot less last month, which is probably why I was able to watch all the rest.

    1. Thank you so much! My main problem with Lucifer is Chloe, but the further in the show, the more interesting the other secondary characters become.

  10. I hope you did well on your exams, Lynn. What a relief to have them behind you! I haven't seen Before I Go to Sleep, but I read the book. I had planned to see the movie after, but lost interest after reading the book. I really want to see Dunkirk. Maybe now that it is on DVD, I will be able to. The Good Place is such fun, isn't it? I love it.
