This is supposed to be a very loose retelling of Rumpelstiltskin and since I love fairy tale retellings and I'm a fan of Novik's Uprooted, I can't wait to read this book! I also want to explore Novik's other books in the future!

Another extremely busy week, I haven't read anything in such a long time. It's definitely a reading slump in combination with no spare time to read. The only thing I did this week aside from working was playing board games with my mum. My current favourite is Istanbul. Recommendations are always welcome!

TV Shows

What did I watch this week? The Graham Norton Show, which I love, Timeless, the final season of New Girl, so sad that it's over! And I also finished the third season of Lucifer, and I need more!! I'm in the mood to Netflix and I need recommendations!

I have been so busy this week, I came home exhausted every day. It's safe to say I did not read anything this week. Two hours ago, I started reading You by Caroline Kepnes, just to switch things up. I only read 28 pages but I hope to cure my reading slump soon!

Not much time to blog this week, I'm glad I was able to post a Sunday Post at all.

TV and Film

I did watch a lot of TV this week, I finished The Alienist, I watched a couple of Scandal episodes, and I rewatched most of the first season of Jane the Virgin. I'm also continuing Timeless, although to me it feels that the show is missing something.

Incredibly busy week and next week is going to be even worse! Some of my classes are very difficult to teach which stresses me out but I'm looking forward to trying out different ways to get them to participate in my lessons. We'll see how it goes.

I only found the time to post a Can't Wait Wednesday post this week. 

Books, TV and Film

It was my mother's birthday this week and I got her The Greatest Showman, which we had to watch immediately, of course! I really enjoyed it, it features so many great songs! 

I also watched The Young Victoria, The Graham Norton Show, Scandal and two episodes of The Alienist. I have to say, I really like The Alienist, it's very atmospheric. My favourite character is Sara. Tonight, I will be watching the final episode of The Mole, very excited to find out who it is!

This sounds like such a cute story and the perfect summer read! According to Goodreads, this book comes out on the fifth of June and I'm very excited to get to it!

Life

This post is incredibly late but the weather was so nice this weekend and I didn't have to prepare any classes for tomorrow, I just decided to have some fun. I love reading and playing board games outside, so that's exactly what I did today! I have started my teaching job and it's a challenge getting to know all new pupils again. However, my colleagues have been amazing!

Blog

Because of the lovely weather, I decided to postpone my stacking the shelves post to next week. I did however manage to post quite a lot at the beginning of the week!

Books, TV and Film

Currently reading The Upside of Unrequited but so far I have to say I liked Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda a lot more. 

I did not watch any movies this week but I did watch The Graham Norton Show, Scandal and Friends. As always, I watched the Flemish The Mole every Sunday night with my family as well, only one episode left after today, excited to see the finale!

May TBR

Not sure how much time I'll have to read in May but I hope to read more books than I did in the previous month! These are the books I hope to get to in May!

1. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

I loved Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and want to read more books by this amazing author!

2. A Court of Frost and Starlight (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3.1) by Sarah J. Maas 

I don't think I need to explain this one.

3. LIFEL1K3 (Lifelike #1) by Jay Kristoff

My pre-orders never come on time, but I still hope to get to this one this month!

4. Sheets by Brenna Thummler

I got an e-arc from Netgalley and I can't wait to read another Brenna Thummler graphic novel!


I am going to read more books than this but I always have trouble sticking to my TBR, so I will just read whatever I'm in the mood for as well.

Then she meets Lara, a girl who can also see the dead. But Lara tells Cassidy that as an In-betweener, their job is to send ghosts permanently beyond the Veil. Cass isn't sure about her new mission, but she does know the sinister Red Raven haunting the city doesn't belong in her world. Cassidy's powers will draw her into an epic fight that stretches through the worlds of the living and the dead, in order to save herself.

I really like V. E. Schwab or Victoria Schwab's books, so I'm really looking forward to all her releases this year! This one is a middle grade novel and even though I almost never read middle grade, I'm excited to read City of Ghosts.

This is the sequel to Sleeping Giants and I got an e-arc from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. However, I received a PDF file and I have a hard time reading those, so I waited until the paperback came out to read it (which I'm glad of right now because don't have to wait too long for the third book).

I liked the first book Sleeping Giants, but I did not think it lived up to the hype. That said, I really enjoyed Waking Gods.

This series is told through interviews and documents (similarly to The Illuminae Files) and while I had trouble connecting to the characters and plot in the first book, I didn't have any issues with Waking Gods. That might have something to do with the fact that the sequel is a lot more action-packed than the first one and intrigued me from the beginning. Additionally, a lot of questions raised in the first book were answered and the one shocking thing after another happened. 

Ultimately, I was pleased with all the answers I got but was left with even more new questions I can't wait to explore in the third book.

All in all, I would recommend this book even to people who read the first book and are in doubt whether or not to continue the series. It's definitely worth it, in my opinion! Action, mystery, great characters and an original plot. Very much looking forward to Only Human! 4 stars! Also, look at that gorgeous cover!

April Wrap Up

Since April was an extremely busy month for me, I did not have the time to read as many books as I hoped to read. Nevertheless, I'm happy with the books I read!

1. The Duchess Deal (Girl Meets Duke, #1) by Tessa Dare

I needed a quick, fun book like this to get me back into reading this month! 3 stars.

2. The Silkworm (Cormoran Strike, #2) by Robert Galbraith

I enjoyed this more than the first book! 3 stars!

3. Career of Evil (Cormoran Strike, #3) by Robert Galbraith

This is my favourite book in the series but I did like the ending. Anyone else read it? What are your thoughts about it? 4 stars.

4. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (Creekwood, #1) by Becky Albertalli 

This fun, cute and romantic book was definitely my favourite of the month! Can't wait to watch the movie, I've heard great things! 4,5 stars!

5. Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku 1 by Fujita
