Sunday Post #144

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer (image above belongs to @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer). It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I am also linking The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance of Readerbuzz where bloggers discuss what they are reading and other bookish topics.

Life

During the past weeks of summer break one of my family members got hospitalised and ultimately had to get a pacemaker. In the meantime, my grandma couldn't stay home alone and I had to spend a lot of days and nights together with her. I didn't mind a bit, as I love her but it can be exhausting at times. Luckily things are hopefully getting better soon.

Today I had fun playing board games at an event called Zomerspel. I got to try four new board games in good company. My favourite one was El Dorado.

I also started making candles again and participated in a fun but short pottery workshop.

Blog and books

I haven't had the time to read much but I recently finished and loved Lonely Castle in the Mirror, one of my favourite books this year! Currently reading a nonfiction book, Atomic Habits.

Movies and TV Shows

I decided to participated in the Instagram challenge 30filmsofsummer which aims to watch 30 films not made in the U.S. of Great Britain. So far I have watched and enjoyed two: Demain Tout Commence and Dancing Queens. I highly recommend the French film, beautiful yet sad.

What did you read or watch recently?

As always please leave some recommendations on what I should read or watch next!

If you enjoyed this review, please follow me on Bloglovin'TwitterInstagram, TVShowTime and Goodreads! I would really appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

  1. It sounds like you have been very busy taking care of your grandmother. How good of you to do that.

I love board games. We taught our granddaughter how to play checkers and Candy Land when they stayed with us.

Thank you for the movies recommendations. I loved Le Grande Illusion and Monsieur Hulot's Holiday best of the French films I watched. Sunday in the Country was also great. We also watched The Lavender Hill Mob which had a French theme.

  2. Those games look like a blast! I'm curious about Coatl. And I hope your grandma is alright. That can be tough as a caregiver too! !
