Life

The last couple of weeks have been extremely busy. Thankfully I did have a Christmas break and I will be home next week as well. It's some much needed time to relax a little, although I seem to have some trouble to actually relax.

Blog and books

This week I read The Afterlife of Holly Chase and I loved it! It was a fun Christmas read!

I'm currently reading Circe by Madeline Miller and I'm really enjoying it. I also got this book as a New Year's Eve present to my grandmother.

Movies and TV Shows

This week I watched Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Tonight, I'm going to the cinema to watch the final film, I'm very excited to see how it all will end but I'm also a little nervous. Have you watched the last film?

I also watched A Simple Favor which was fun but not that great. I'm now obsessed with the song Bonnie and Clyde, though.

I also started watching The Witcher yesterday, really enjoying it so far. I can't wait to read the books as well. Have you read them?

What did you read or watch recently?

Life

I have been feeling quite depressed for the last week or longer. This is mainly caused by an awful situation at work, which still hasn't been completely solved. In addition to a very exhausting working schedule and badly being in need of break, I haven't felt that great lately. I'm hoping this will change soon, so I can have more time to read and feel like myself again.

In other news, I'm so ready for Christmas! My tree is up and I have already received my TBTB Secret Santa package! She delivered it in person, which was awsome!

Blog and books

I finished Queen of Nothing last weekend and I really enjoyed it! I do wish the book was longer, I wouldn't have minded a 500 page book :) I'm really going to miss some of these characters.

Movies and TV Shows

I didn't really watch any tv shows the last couple of weeks but this weekend I did watch three films: Shazam (which was a lot of fun!), Instant Family and The Book of Love. I'm getting in the mood to watch some Christmas films! Which ones are your favourites? I quite like While You Were Sleeping and It's a Wonderful Life. I can always use more recommendations!

Life

I'm incredibly busy at the moment, I really don't know what to do first. I'm already working more than full time and in December I will have to work even more. Not really looking forward to that exhausting month. I will barely have any time to sleep between teaching classes during the day and evening. I usually don't get 6 hours of sleep on the days were these are combined, so that will be four days from now on... I will miss sleeping.

In other news, I got a disturbing letter that says I have to pay about 4,000 euros tax on my car. It's a mistake, because it should be less than 200. I'm going to challenge this, but this will take time so I will probably have to pay because otherwise I could get in trouble.

Blog and books

I started The Queen of Nothing and now I'm kind of scared to continue because I don't want things to end and don't want to see anything bad happening to my favourite characters. Most importantly, though, I'm not going to have much time to read in the near future.

Movies and TV Shows

I finished Dublin Murders, I liked it but I'm also annoyed to still have so many unanswered questions. Is the book better?

Life

I had a very busy week, and the next ones will only get busier. My teaching schedule with both classes in secondary school and Spanish evening classes don't leave much room to relax at the end of the day. Which is something I really need. This makes everything that much more stressful. However, I am enjoying this weekend. I went to the theatre last night to see Ivanov, a classic play by Chekhov and I enjoyed it.

Blog and books

I also treated myself to a book on Friday, Normal People by Sally Rooney, which I finished yesterday and really enjoyed! Currently reading White Hot and liking it as well!

Movies and TV Shows

I watched another episode of Dublin Murders, I think I would have preferred to read the book though.

Life

Sadly my break is over now but I loved having the time to read and blog again. I was finally able to relax and it was something I truly needed. I also went to the coast for two days, just to unwind.

I also joined up for TBTB Secret Santa, I'm excited to participate this year as well.

Blog and books

I read some great books this week, my favourite was The Diviners by Libba Bray! Currently reading Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews and really enjoying it!

This week I also posted a Can't Wait Wednesday post, my October wrap October book haul.

Do you have some urban fantasy recommendations?

Movies and TV Shows

I didn't watch a lot of television this week, I mainly read some books.

Stacking the Shelves: October Book Haul

Stacking the Shelves is a meme co-hosted by Reading Reality and Tynga's Reviews (the image above belongs to these blogs too). Each week bloggers share the books they got.

This is my October book haul, I have already read 4 of these, which I'm quite happy about. You can find my thoughts about them in my wrap up.

These are the books I got in October:

1. Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore

This is the only e-book I got this month.

2. The Merciful Crow (The Merciful Crow, #1) by Margaret Owen

3. The Diviners (The Diviners, #1) by Libba Bray

4. House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig

5. Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh

I saw this in a bookstore and was intrigued. I haven't read anything by this author before. Have you read anything by Waugh?

6. Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

I already owned two copies of Frankenstein but I collect the Penguin English Library editions so I couldn't resist picking this up.

7. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

8. Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks

Which books did you recently get? Have you read any of the books mentioned above or are you planning to? Leave your thoughts down below!
