Sunday Post #137

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer (image above belongs to @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer). It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
I am also linking The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance of Readerbuzz where bloggers discuss what they are reading and other bookish topics.

Life

The past few weeks have been extremely busy, the next two weeks will be a lot as well (especially with increasing covid numbers) but after that I will have another break. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to that one!

How have all of you been these past weeks?

I have been accumulating some new board games, I love playing them but finding the place to store them (and my books) can be challenging at times. My new favourite one is Wingspan, such a stunning and fun game!

Blog and books

This weekend I finally read something again, Winter in Sokcho, a delightful (but bleak) read set in Korea. The setting and the characters were intriguing and it was a very quick read (around 150 pages). I love this original cover quite a bit!

Movies and TV Shows

I watched two films this weekend, Hostiles, a western, and War Horse. The latter I have watched before but I might show this in one of my lessons, as I'm teaching about the First World War (and most pupils have seen 1917 last year).

Still watching Schitt's Creek (really enjoying it now) and I also started watching Flog it and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is again.

What did you read or watch recently?

As always please leave some recommendations on what I should read or watch next!

If you enjoyed this review, please follow me on Bloglovin'TwitterInstagram, TVShowTime and Goodreads! I would really appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

  1. How was Hostiles? I really like western films!

  2. Oh I'll have to check Hostiles out! I'm currently (like literally as I'm typing this) watching a new Netflix doc about the college admissions scandal. It's interesting so far. They reenact phone calls from the FBI wiretaps.

  3. I got a new card game last week when I visited the bookstore in person for the first time in over a year. It's called Quiddler, and it was recommended by one of our blogging friends, Anne of My Head is Full of Books.

We are watching David Letterman's Next Guest show. I really wanted to skip a few people that I didn't know much about, but they turned out to be rather interesting, too.

I'm reading Klara and the Sun, and it's quite good.

  4. I've just realized that Sokcho is already on my TBR, I'd forgotten about it. This weekend, I've been watching Picard because I'm a long time Trekkie, my daughter and I are watching Hotel del Luna, a Korean drama, very beautiful to look at and my partner and I started watching The boys, which is completely, completely different, lol ! Enjoy your week :)
