I had a bunch of exams this month so I didn't have a lot of time to read. I still managed to read four books, which is great!
1. Windwitch (The Witchlands #2) by Susan Dennard
I really enjoyed this book! However, I had to put it down so much in order to study, I felt at times disconnected and therefore I gave it only 4 stars. Review to come!
2. Flashfall (Flashfall #1) by Jenny Moyer
This book was in my very first FairyLoot box and I told myself, I can only order a new box if I read the book I got first. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep this up, because those FairyLoot boxes are awesome!
I did enjoy Flashfall, especially the second half of the book, which was very action-packed! I don't know if I'm going to read the sequel though. 3 stars.
3. The Heart of Betrayal (The Remnant Chronicles #2) by Mary E. Pearson
This is the second book in The Remnant Chronicles and I absolutely enjoyed this book! I love Lia, she's a fantastic character! 5 stars! I highly recommend this trilogy!
4. A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic #1) by V.E. Schwab
This book was awesome! It's an adult fantasy novel and the first in a trilogy! Can't wait to read the other books! 5 stars!

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. Each week bloggers post the books they purchased or received. This is my December book haul. Some books I bought myself and others I received as gifts for Christmas or New Year's Eve.
These are the one I got myself:
1. Heartless by Marissa Meyer
Sooo excited about this book! I got the hardcover and it's simply stunning! The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favourite series and I can't wait to read Wires and Nerve!
2. Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo
3. Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo
I'm really excited to read this duology!
4. The Girl in 6E (Deanna Madden #1) by A.R. Torre
I've heard some good things about this book and while this is totally not my genre, I am excited to read it!
5. We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
I've heard so much about Shirley Jackson, and the book I decided to read first! Can't wait!
This month I also decided to order an Owlcrate box and because I just couldn't get enough of subscription boxes, I ordered FairyLoot as well.
6. Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst
This hardcover was in my Owlcrate box. I'm a little disappointed because I've heard some pretty bad reviews about this one and I feel that doesn't go well with the theme of the box, which was 'epic'. If you want to know more about this box, please let me know in the comments.
7. Flashfall (Flashfall #1) by Jenny Moyer
As you can see above, this book was in my FairyLoot box :) absolutely love this subscription box! I actually couldn't resist and ordered the January box as well, because "Treat yo self"! :p
I actually haven't heard much about this book but I'm excited to get to it! I'm hoping to read it in January!
8. City of Thieves by David Benioff
I got this book from my uncle as a Christmas present together with a dvd of Fargo!
This year I also participated in the Secret Santa project hosted by the blog The Broke and Bookish! It was absolutely awesome! My Secret Santa is lovely
girl from Sweden! She got me some Swedish sweets and chocolate and needless to say they were delicious and totally gone already! :p
She also got me the following books!
9. The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
10. Walk on Earth a Stranger (The Gold Seer Trilogy #1) by Rae Carson
Really excited about all of them! Thank you again Kimberly! You are amazing!
My family actually exchanges the most gifts on New Year's Eve, I got some fantastic books from my parents (thanks dad!), my grandparents and my great-aunt.
11. How to Be a Woman by Caitlin Moran
12. Giant Days, Vol. 1 by John Allison (Author), Lissa Treiman (Illustrator), Whitney Cogar (Colors)
13. The Trouble With Women by Jacky Fleming
14. You (You #1) by Caroline Kepnes
15. The Black Prism (Lightbringer #1) by Brent Weeks
16. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë
17. The Warded Man (The Demon Cycle #1) by Peter V. Brett
I'm really excited about all of these! I actually didn't expect I'd receive so many books this year, so I'm really pleased!
Which books did you get in December? Have you read any of the books mentioned above? Or are you planning to? Leave your thoughts down below!
These are the books I read in December. I read half of the books on my TBR, so I'm actually really pleased with that!
1. Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
I have to admit, most of the time I don't enjoy stream of consciousness but this book wasn't so bad. This is my first Virginia Woolf read, and I am hoping to try out more of her work in the future. 4 stars.
2. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
YA contemporary has once again been proven not to be my favourite genre. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. 3 stars.
3. Room by Emma Donoghue
Really liked this book! However, I would have loved to read from the mother's perspective as well instead of the whole story in Jack's point of view. At times, I got really annoyed at the grammatical errors Jack makes throughout the entire novel. While I know, children do that, it could get on my nerves. 4 stars.
4. Assassin's Quest (Farseer Trilogy, #3) by Robin Hobb
I started reading this book quite some time ago and put it down when I got to page 150. This is a huge book, so it was quite a challenge to finish it this month, especially because I thought it was very intimidating and uneventful (at times). In the end, Robin Hobb can do no wrong, in my opinion. I really enjoyed this book! 4 stars.
5. The Winner's Crime (The Winner's Trilogy, #2) by Marie Rutkoski
Just like Assassin's Quest, I started reading this book months ago. I got to page 100 and never picked it up again. My goal this month was to finish all the books I started this year, so I had to continue this book as well. I probably would have enjoyed it so much more if I had read the rest back in March. 3 stars.
6. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
I am not a huge Alice in Wonderland fan, I'm not even sure if I saw the movie when I was little, however I felt I needed to read it before I read Heartless. I probably would have enjoyed it more when I was much younger. 3 stars.

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Each week bloggers post their top ten on a previously suggested topic. This week's topic is ten debut novels of 2017. I have a couple of debuts I'm really excited to read, so without further ado, here is my list:
1. When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
I love contemporary adult romance. YA contemporary I like a lot less, but this one just sounds so cute! I can't wait!
2. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
This sounds like an important book and I really want to get to it soon!
3. Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
There is only one word I needed to know about this book in order to get really excited about it: Pirates! There really aren't many pirate books out there and I can't wait to read this!
4. Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Heard great things about this book! Stunning cover and interesting synopsis! Count me in!
5. Empress of a Thousand Skies by Rhoda Belleza
6. Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones
Goblins!
I'm sure there are many more debuts, but these are the ones I could think of just know.
Which debuts are you excited for this year? Leave your thoughts down below!
