Sunday Post #140: I'm back!

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer (image above belongs to @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer). It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I am also linking The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance of Readerbuzz where bloggers discuss what they are reading and other bookish topics.

Life

I didn't plan on being absent for so long on this blog, but work got extremely busy and I didn't have the time to read let alone to blog. This summer, however, I found the time to start reading again and I read some amazing books which made me want to talk about them on here again. I hope to find the time to read and blog more again, so I'm posting again in a more hopefull mood.

Blog and books

Some of my favourite reads were One Hundred Years of Solitude (although it also put me in a reading slump), The Island of Missing Trees, Much Ado About Nothing and Hamnet

This summer I finally travelled abroad again as well and visited some lovely bookshops in Amsterdam and London.

These are the books I collected in Amsterdam, I've already finished Outline and The Year of Magical Thinking, both intriguing and a recommendation.

These are the ones I got in London, I'd forgotten how much I love that place!
I went to Foyles, Waterstones and Word on the Water.

My favourite thing this summer was visiting Shakespeare's Globe and finally watching a play there, one of my favourites even: Much Ado About Nothing. It was an absolutely magical experience and I loved every second of it.

Movies and TV Shows

I also finally finished Poldark, I hadn't seen the last two seasons yet and I discovered The Boys, which was entertaining as well, but I do prefer Poldark

Do you have any new period drama recommendations?

What did you watch or read recently?

As always please leave some recommendations on what I should read or watch next!

If you enjoyed this review, please follow me on Bloglovin'TwitterInstagram, TVShowTime and Goodreads! I would really appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

  1. We have missed hearing from you. It sounds like you have been busy.

I thought Hamnet was very well written, and I've got The Island of Missing Trees on my list to read.

What a wonderful thing it must be to attend Shakespeare's Globe.

I hope you will return again soon, Lynn.

It was the same for me with Poldark, happy to have finished now after all, though.
