Can't-Wait Wednesday: Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and talk about the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. It's based on Waiting On Wednesday hosted at Breaking the Spine.

Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?

Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha's past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.

With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall, and hearts will be broken.

For years I have seen this meme going around and now I decided to participate for the first time!

One of my most anticipated books this year is Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. This is the third book in a young adult science fiction novel. The story is told through documents and it reads very fast. I can't wait to see how things will wrap up in this book even though I would not have minded if the series were longer.

Which books are you highly anticipating? Have you read The Illuminae Files or are you planning to? Leave your thoughts down below!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

  9. If this series had been written in ordinary novel form I'd have read it but I don't like the format chosen. Pity!

    1. I can understand that. I had some issues with Sleeping Giants as well. I do think it works better in this trilogy though.
