Sunday Post #131

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted here @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer (image above belongs to @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer). It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.
I am also linking The Sunday Salon hosted by Deb Nance of Readerbuzz where bloggers discuss what they are reading and other bookish topics.

Life

I've found my reading mood again this month and all I want to do is sit on my couch and read. Sadly, I have some busy weeks ahead of me and I'm not able to read as much as I would like to.
It snowed yesterday, and for once I was able to enjoy it without having to go outside and drive to work. Snow during the holidays or the weekend is beautiful while I think it's annoying when during a normal week.

Blog and books

I finished reading Stamped, a remix of Stamped from to Beginning, written for a teenage audience, which is something I discovered when I started reading the book. It's my first nonfiction read this year and I hope to read more books of Ibram X. Kendi soon.

I also started The Lonesome Bodybuilder, a collection of Japanese short stories and Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead. The latter was the perfect book to read yesterday, when it snowed all day long.

Movies and TV Shows

I have been watching snooker, the Masters late at night on the BBC. It caused me some lack of sleep for several days but totally worth it, I'd say!
I can't sleep when I'm stressed and something about watching snooker relaxes me tremendously.
I also watched The Hate U Give for the second time because I might use it in one of my lessons. I also continued to watch westerns with my father, Two Rode Together and How the West Was Won. Thanks for all your recommendations, I will check them out!

What did you read or watch recently?

As always please leave some recommendations on what I should read or watch next!

If you enjoyed this review, please follow me on Bloglovin'TwitterInstagram, TVShowTime and Goodreads! I would really appreciate it!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

  1. I can't imagine having to drive in snow. But, then again, you probably can't imagine having to drive in a tropical storm or hurricane!

Stamped is a great book. It's probably just me, but I tend to like the versions for a YA audience better than the adult version sometimes.

We watched How the West Was Won for the first time last fall. So many wonderful actors in that one.

    Have a great week!

  2. Like you, I love snow only when I don't have to get out in it! I'm also in a big reading mood - so far - this month; I'm hoping to finish The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek today. Happy Sunday!

  3. We haven't had much of a winter. I keep seeing past snow pictures popping up in my FB memories and I'm like "Where is our snow????" So, enjoy yours for me.

  4. Ibram X. Kendi's books and articles seem to keep showing up in the places I look. I think I'll have to read some -- the article I read was very good.

  5. Snow is nice on the weekends or when you don't have to go, true. :)

A good western is fun. :)

  6. Driving in snow looks terrifying so I’m not surprised you don’t like during a work week.
I just finished binging Vera (based on Anne Cleaves book series) and Upstairs/Downstairs on Britbox. I’m looking for something new now.

Wishing you a great reading week

  7. I wish the snow could've stayed on the ground at least for a few more days.

  8. Same here, I love watching snow but hate to drive in it, especially when our area is far from being flat. It's been a while since I've watched a good ole western, it sounds nice. Enjoy your week !
